Biography
A dedicated linguist committed to enhancing the academic community through research in various areas, including Chomskyan Grammar, Applied Linguistics, and Discourse Analysis. Ongoing research paper investigates phoneme-focused pronunciations of 37 selected English words among students in the Level 2 IML English Skills Program (ESP) at SIMAD University in Mogadishu, Somalia. Possession of over six years of teaching experience, three of which have been at SIMAD University, instructing communicative and academic English to both undergraduate and
postgraduate students and lecturing literature and linguistics courses such as Literary Theory and Criticism, Semantics, and Pragmatics to the Faculty of Education undergraduate students. Additionally, immense contributions were made in outlining the course content for linguistics and literature at the Faculty of Education, in reviewing the English Skills Program curriculum at the Institute of Modern Languages (IML), and in
preparing students for the Cambridge English Linguaskill tests to evaluate their proficiency levels. In late 2024, participated in the committee that designed the IML Strategic Plan for 2025 – 2028 and contributed to formulating assessment questions as a member of the IML examination committee.
